There were tears shed in Boston when singer Brad Delp committed suicidein March, and a few more were likely shed at the Bank of America Pavilion Sunday night. Despite some somber moments, the five-hour, seven-band show amounted to a party in Delp s honor.

Delp Lineup Realigns

A few changes have been announced for Sunday night's tribute to late Boston vocalist Brad Delp at the Bank of America Pavilion. Sammy Hagar, Orion the Hunter, and former Jefferson Starship singer Mickey Thomas are out and hometown rockers Extreme are in. (Hagar can't make it, according to the Boston website, for "personal business reasons.") Extreme joins the already-announced lineup of Michael Sweet of Stryper, Godsmack, RTZ, Farrenheit, auto magnate Ernie Boch Jr.'s Ernie and the Automatics, and Beatlejuice -- Delp's Beatles tribute act. Current and former members of Boston will also take the stage for the show, which will now start at 5:45 p.m. The gig is titled "Come Together" in honor of Delp's abiding love for the Fab Four.

 

BOSTON Rock Star Receives Celebrity Animal Advocate of the Year Award

Tom Scholz, founder of the rock band BOSTON, was honored for his philanthropy work by the annual Animal Rights National Conference this evening in Los Angeles. He was presented with the Celebrity Animal Advocate of the Year Award in recognition of his long-term support of animal rights. Scholz was accompanied by his wife Kim. Past recipients of this award include Alicia Silverstone, James Cromwell, Linda Blair, Charlotte Ross, Casey Kasem, Wendi Malick, Bill Maher and Dennis Kucinich.
