EXETER - "Help!"
This might be one of the numerous songs performed by tribute band Beatle Juice as it takes the stage at the Ioka Theater in three weeks to help raise money for a local softball league.

Beatle Juice, led by Brad Delp of the band Boston, will perform the benefit concert on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 8 p.m. for the Northeast Hurricanes, a new, fast-pitch softball program for area teens.

Tom Fyfe of Exeter is chairing the event for the Northeast Hurricanes and said the new nonprofit organization wanted to host a fun evening on the town instead of a typical fund-raiser.

"They can donate and see a great concert at the same time," Fyfe said. "Obviously the Beatles were outrageously popular. This is top-notch musicians playing top-notch music. You don t see that too often in Exeter."

The Boston-based Beatles tribute band will rock the Ioka with tunes like "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Love Me Do," "Let It Be," "Yellow Submarine," "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "Twist and Shout" and "Hey Jude."

Although they may not look like John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, and George Harrison, they sound like them. Beatle Juice is touring the Boston area this year with gigs at the Music Hall in Portsmouth on Feb. 18 for a benefit for Sexual Assault Support Services, for example.

At the Ioka, Beatle Juice will perform two 80-minute sets, and Fyfe said they ll play until they get kicked off stage.

The Northeast Hurricanes are a new girls softball program that will kick off this spring with two teams - 12 and under and 14 and under. Fyfe said there will be about 13 girls to a team practicing throughout the week and playing numerous games in tournaments on the weekends.

"These are girls who want to eventually play at the high school and college level," he said.

The league s coach is Dean Borrelli, former Oakland Athletics catcher, who owns Play Ball, an indoor baseball and softball training facility in Salem.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. with ebony porn the band hitting the stage at 8 p.m. playing more than two hours of Beatles hits. The event is for people 21 years or older, and a bar will be open at the hall. Free parking will be available at the theater.
